A career training school in the Carolinas

Every seat is someone betting on herself.

A small, founder-led school trains adults for a new career in twelve weeks. In four months, its monthly revenue grew from $30K to $75K. This is the story of how the ads finally started speaking to the people who needed them.

Each seat stands for $1,000 of monthly revenue.
September

We inherited ads that spoke to everyone, so they landed with no one.

The foundation was solid. The tracking worked, the audiences existed, and the school knew exactly what it wanted: full classes every enrollment cycle. But every campaign was written for "people who might be interested," and the clicks showed it. Only about one person in a hundred who saw an ad clicked on it.

October

Before writing a single new ad, we met four people.

We built them from enrollment data, local job market research and long conversations with the team. Each one got her own campaign and her own words. Tap a badge to hear what each person needed to hear.

November to February

Some of what we tried didn't work, and that taught us the most.

Spending more didn't help. Our two biggest-budget months had some of the weakest results.
Still images fell flat.Every top ad was a video or reel. Photos trailed by five to ten times.
Asking too early backfired.Ads that pushed for enrollment before trust was built barely moved.
The audiences were right. The people were right all along. The messages needed to grow up.
March

The rebuild: one message for every moment of the decision.

In eight days, we relaunched three audiences with fresh video built on everything we'd learned. Every ad was written for one stage of the 7-Stage Creative Method. Tap through the stages to watch the Career Changer move from frustrated at work to ready to apply.

April and May

Four times the clicks, three times the leads, and full classrooms.

Within weeks, the share of people clicking our ads quadrupled on the same audiences. Applications went from a few a day to a dozen. Because the school runs on twelve-week enrollment cycles, those spring leads became the students who filled May, the strongest month of our work together at $75K.

An honest note on the numbers: revenue includes everything the school earned in those months. Paid social was one input, and the strongest one we could measure, but not the only one.

What's next: the moment interested people quietly leave.

22,514 peoplereached the application page
891 peoplestarted typing
752 peoplefinished and applied

The ads were working. Almost everyone who started the form finished it. The leak was the moment before the first keystroke, and fixing a quarter of it would double applications on the same budget.

Your business has a moment like this too. Fill out your own form on your phone, the way a stranger would, and notice where you'd hesitate.

To the founder and team behind this school, thank you.

You trusted me with something that mattered deeply: the people who walk through your doors hoping for a better life. Watching you show up for your students every day is something I won't forget.

Every number in this story is a person who bet on herself, and it was an honor to help more of them find you.

This is very possible for your business too

Let's find your four people.

This school wasn't a special case. It got clear about who it serves and built messages that meet each person where they are in their decision. That's the whole thing.
